Fire Ratings - More Info
HLSMR has adopted the Township of the Archipelago Fire Hazard rating and activity guidelines. There are many good reasons for this, the primary being that our own township of Wallbridge is unorganized and has no such information. The Township of the Archipelago is our organized adjacent neighbor with nearly identical geography and land-use.
Furthermore, their system is staffed to provide website real-time updates and has a robust rating process that consults MNR fire maps and local fire chiefs. The Archipelago also has bylaws on allowable activities. Since our township is unorganized and has no bylaws nor enforcement, we are adopting their principles as “activity guidelines”. We are grateful to the Archipelago for freely sharing this resource and real-time web data.
